Die diesjährige Verleihung fand im festlichen Ambiente des Umweltministeriums in Wien statt. Umweltminister Norbert Totschnig und Doris Wagner, Sektionschefin im Bildungsministerium, würdigten die 29 ausgezeichneten Kindergärten, Schulen und außerschulischen Bildungseinrichtungen für ihr Engagement für Klimaschutz, Gesundheit und Bildung für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Vorzeigeprojekt aus Tirol\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003Cbr \u002F>\nDie PH Tirol überzeugte mit einem besonderen Konzept: An der Hochschule wird Nachhaltigkeit nicht nur durch eine Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie gelebt, sondern die Studierenden können ihre umweltbezogenen Projekte in den zwei Praxisschulen umsetzen. Die angehenden Lehrerinnen und Lehrer beschäftigen sich mit ihren Klassen unter anderem mit dem Thema sauberes Wasser. Alle drei Einrichtungen dürfen sich dieses Jahr über das Umweltzeichen freuen.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Stetig wachsendes Netzwerk an Lizenznehmern\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003Cbr \u002F>\nEnde Mai 2026 waren insgesamt 327 österreichische Bildungsinstitutionen Lizenznehmer des Umweltzeichens. Bei der diesjährigen Verleihung kamen insgesamt 29 Einrichtungen hinzu, davon sieben Kindergärten, 15 Schulen und sieben außerschulische Bildungseinrichtungen. Die Einrichtungen verteilen sich wie folgt auf die Bundesländer: Sieben aus der Steiermark, je sechs aus Kärnten und Niederösterreich, vier aus Wien und je drei aus Tirol und Oberösterreich. In Kärnten überzeugten vor allem die Kindergärten, während in Niederösterreich besonders die Schulen stark vertreten sind.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Seit mehr als 35 Jahren eine verlässliche Orientierungshilfe im Umwelt- und Klimaschutz\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003Cbr \u002F>\nFür die Österreicherinnen und Österreicher bietet das Österreichische Umweltzeichen eine verlässliche Orientierung für nachhaltige und umweltfreundliche Kaufentscheidungen. Die staatlich ausgezeichneten Produkte und Dienstleistungen erfüllen strenge Umweltkriterien, geprüft durch ein unabhängiges Gesamtgutachten.\u003Cbr \u002F>\nInsgesamt gibt es mit Stand Ende Mai 2026 1881 Lizenznehmer aus den verschiedensten Branchen, die die hohe Akzeptanz des Öko-Siegels unterstreichen. Im Tourismussektor steht das Österreichische Umweltzeichen für konsequente nachhaltige Betriebsführung in Hotels, Gastronomiebetrieben, Campingplätzen und Schutzhütten sowie bei Veranstaltungen, die als Green Meeting oder Event organisiert werden. Tourismusdestinationen sowie Reise-angebote runden das Portfolio ab. Ausgezeichnete Schulen, Kindergärten und Bildungseinrichtungen stehen für hohe Bildungsqualität und setzen auf Klimaschutz und gelebte Nachhaltigkeit. Im Bereich Kunst und Kultur können sich Theater, Museen, Kinos sowie Film- und TV-Produktionen mit dem Umweltsiegel zertifizieren 8 to 12 June 2026, the University College of Teacher Education Tyrol (PH Tirol) hosted its International Staff Week under the theme „Sustainability in Education“. The week brought together academics and staff from three continents – Europe, Asia and Africa – for a programme dedicated to sustainable teacher education and intercultural exchange.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Partner institutions from Spain, Portugal, Poland, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Turkey represented the European network, while colleagues from Thailand, India and Kazakhstan joined from Asia. South Africa contributed the African perspective. Together, these international guests shared research, teaching practice and ideas across disciplines – and were given the opportunity to present their own lectures, projects and institutional experiences, opening valuable insights into educational systems from different parts of the world.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The week opened on Monday with a guided city tour through Innsbruck, giving our international guests a first impression of the Tyrolean capital. Over the following days, guest lectures addressed topics ranging from AI in education and biodiversity to multilingual learning, sustainable bio-business and project-based learning for responsible consumption.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Hands-on workshops by PH Tirol\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003Cbr \u002F>\nParticularly memorable were the practical contributions from PH Tirol itself. Wolfgang Zangerl invited participants to a bee workshop at the campus, where guests visited the campus hives and learned about beekeeping and the importance of bees for biodiversity and sustainable education. Stephan Walch then delighted the group with a special cheese tasting, paired with fresh honey from the campus hives and homemade honey ice cream. Stefanie Albert took participants on a culinary world tour, preparing dumplings from around the globe – from Austrian Schlutzkrapfen to Asian variations. Cooking regional Tyrolean specialities together with Peter Mitterer has long been a beloved highlight of our international weeks, and this year was no exception. The programme also featured a chocolate tasting workshop, and evenings were rounded off with the „Radlkino“, a bicycle-powered cinema.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The academic programme was complemented by visits to a kindergarten, the affiliated primary school (Praxisvolksschule) and the affiliated middle school (Praxismittelschule) of PH Tirol, a Gallery Walk of partner universities, and a dedicated Green Event Day featuring an intercultural brunch and the planting of an international garden with seeds brought from participants‘ home countries.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Voices from our participants\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003Cbr \u002F>\n\u003Cem>„The programme was thoughtfully designed and provided a perfect balance between academic exchange, professional development, intercultural learning and opportunities for informal networking. One of the greatest strengths of the Staff Week was undoubtedly the international community that came together in Innsbruck. Wie antworten sie auf die an sie gestellten Ansprüche? Wie lernen sie? Was unterstützt ihr Lernen, was behindert es?\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\u003Cp>Um Antworten auf diese Fragen zu finden, haben fünf Forscher:innen und fünf Masterstudierende ab dem Schuljahr 2021\u002F22 Schulbesuche an zehn öffentlichen Volksschulen in Tirol durchgeführt. Insgesamt 20 Kinder wurden in der ersten, zweiten, dritten und vierten Schulstufe mehrere Tage hindurch durch ihren Schulalltag begleitet. Während und nach den Besuchen an der Schule hielten die Forscher:innen ausgewählte Momente in kurzen Szenen, sogenannten Vignetten, fest.\u003Cbr \u002F>\nBei einer Abschlussveranstaltung am 19. Juni 2026 an der PH Tirol wurden Meilensteine des Forschungsprojekts und ausgewählte Ergebnisse vorgestellt. Erfreulicherweise sind auch sechs Masterarbeiten aus dem Projekt entstanden. Eine kleine Ausstellung zeigte Fotos, die Schüler:innen der 4. Klasse von Orten in der Schule gemacht haben, an denen sie gut lernen können.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Den Höhepunkt des Abends bildete die Präsentation der so genannten Vignettenbox. Um im Projekt entstandene Vignetten Dozierenden und Studierenden an der Hochschule, Lehrpersonen und Schulleitungen zugänglich zu machen, werden 40 ausgewählte Vignetten auf DIN-A5-Karten in Holzboxen präsentiert. Die Boxen wurden von der Tiroler Fachberufsschule für Holztechnik angefertigt. Jeder Box ist eine Anleitung für den Einsatz von Vignetten in der Aus- und Fortbildung sowie in der Schul- und Unterrichtsentwicklung beigelegt, in der die Entstehung von Vignetten, Einsatzmöglichkeiten und unterschiedliche Methoden der Lektüre vorgestellt werden.\u003Cbr \u002F>\nDie Vignettenboxen können in der Bibliothek der PH Tirol ausgeliehen
